Of Time and Patience
Alaska, United States
Ice Caves are a fickle beauty. This one, in particular, has been relatively constant for the past twenty years. It fills with snow and water over the winter and spring and drains only for a short while over the summer. With the rising temperatures of the past few years, even this cave has become unstable. This is likely the last time I'll ever be able to enter this cave before it collapses under the weight of the ice. Glaciers are dynamic beings in the best of times, so this is partially to be expected, though the changing climate is doing no favors to them.
