Sometimes I plan out my adventures in great detail before I depart for them, sometimes I wing it and throw an arrow at a map. I chose this hike because it had three lakes along the route and I knew I couldn't go wrong with a hike around some lakes. When I arrived at this spot, the wind was just dying down and the lake calmed down to this glassy state for just a few minutes. I shucked my shoes and waded into the frigid water to capture this shot, barely able to keep my focus on my camera. I'm no stranger to beautiful sights, but they still never fail to leave me speechless.
