Common Loons are one of my favorite birds and my least favorite to photograph. Because they dive underwater to catch fish, and they can swim dozens of feet while underwater, it is very frustrating to photograph them. It is made even worse when you're in a kayak or on a standup paddle board and the wind is blowing you every which way! But watching these beautiful birds makes it all worth it.
