Blue Plunge
Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, Alaska, USA
These vivid blue glacial pools are a natural feature on glaciers. They form when the complex network of tunnels that run throughout the inside of the glacier get blocked up with sediment and the water has nowhere to go. This makes the blue pools very ephemeral features as you never know when the blockage will break and the pool will drain.
