Tree of Life
Kalaloch Beach, Olympic National Park, Washington, United States
Otherwise known as the "Tree Root Cave" or the "Tree of Hope," this extraordinary tree is literally hanging on by its roots. The soft sandstone that makes up the cliffs of this beach has long since been worn away from the heavy winds and rain that constantly batter the Olympic coast and this tree has withstood it all.
There is no telling when the elements will win the battle, but for now, the tree stands strong.
