Connections

Sawtooth Wilderness, Idaho, United States.

Prior to this particular trip, I'd been in a bit of a slump. With wildfires eating up my summer and making outdoor activity all but impossible and the decision to move from my home of two and a half years to a new country, emotions were all over the place. When I stepped onto this trail, breathing came easier. Suddenly, only that moment mattered. There was fog and mountains and tiny streams and early autumn colors and I was alive again. It's scenes like this that help solidify the sometimes crazy plans I undertake - going to the mountains really is going home.
